Are your clients always asking for you to write a recommendation or fill out an evaluation form for them? This training will help you respond to a wide variety of requests for recommendation and disability requests. We will discuss multiple tips and strategies for crafting recommendation letters, navigating tricky treatment and custody recommendations, and respond to disability and employment evaluations. The training will include with a discussion of essential policies to include in your informed consent. Participants will also receive insights on maintaining ethical boundaries in challenging client conversations.

Objectives:

• Participants will be able to identify professional codes of ethics relevant to evaluations, recommendations, and other client requests.
• Participants will learn strategies to craft therapist recommendation letters that meet ethical obligations.
•  Participants will be able to identify essential policies for a mental health informed consent to fully inform clients of the policies and expectations regarding treatment recommendation and evaluation requests.
